Want to go back to Zero Carbing - had a one month break now, I miss the simplicity of Zero carbing... and the way it made me feel.
As for the fat, I think it will be high too, but wont go out of my way to ensure my %
Will have; meat, fish, egg, cheese, cream, butter and oils ...
will see how it goes ;)

Kristi, I do take multi vit tablet every day, and it contains some Vit C, I also used to have a hair/skin/nail formula vitamin which also contains vit C other vitamins as well as biotin - but I read this article about discouraging people from taking vitamin C, A & E and saying people who regularly supplement on those vitamins end up shortening their life span ... God knows how they came to that conclusion !!
Anyway yesterday I decided instead of doubling on the various vitamins, I am having just multi vit tablet, and just bought pure biotin tablets with nothing else with it.
speaking of vitamins:
Last week I was incredibly busy for a couple of days, had some really critical presentation to do in front of some of the best in the industry (MIT/Oxford/Cambridge Phd level kind of people) so I was very nervous and intimidated by what they may through at me, and if they'd shred my presentation apart... anyway I was so worried I forgot to have my vitamins for a couple of days - also when am nervous I end up eating too much ( when was younger at school I used to always put on some pounds during exams times) so as usual the last 3 days leading to my presentation I ate loads of food .... however guess what, combination of eating more (all LC btw) and not having vitamin lead to some weight loss
I also saw this

| Quote: | The weight gain that B12 causes I suspect is connected to B12’s ability to depress a form of glutamate decarboxylase (GAD67) that converts glutamate into GABA. And of course glutamate stimulates weight gain through insulin production. More on the B12 trials in another post.

I only started to take vitamin B complex about 4-5 weeks ago, so wonder if not having that vitamin lead to my weight loss??
Anyway, most recent article are discouraging people from taking vitamin tablets... but I know I'd suffer if i don't have some of the vitamins... my cabinet is now full of all kind of vitamins, they are all expensive, and sound essential in one way or another... wonder if I should go back to the bare minimum....
here is a list of all vitamins I have:
B100 - B-complex
Vit D (2000Iu) daily
KLB6 (Kelp, soya lecithin, vitamin B6 and cider vinegar)
EPA - fish oil 1200mg
Chelated Potassium (don't have this regularly)
Multi vitamins tablet
Sking hair and nail (now replace with jsut Biotin)
L-Carnitine - but had this only once or twice, was discouraged due to some articles I read
Alpha lipoic Acid - again I rarely take it, it needs to be taken with food, and whenever I had it I ended so hungry that I needed an extra snack
As you can see, everyone at home thinks am a nut case when it comes to vitamins!!

| Also, could my cold sore have been due to vit C? I know its viral, but outbreaks have been associated with artificial sweeteners too!! |

Sandy I think your cold sore was due to your immune system being down at that point. You mentioned you might be coming down with a cold, you escaped it but got a cold sore. I get a cold sore almost every time I escape getting a cold - my very unscientific and unproven idea is that the cold manifests itself through a coldsore instead of taking over my body, OR that your body is just run down from fighting it off, so it's an opportune time for a virus to make itself obvious in your body. _________________ "Man lives on one quarter of what he eats. huh ?you mean am obsessing again about finding a reason for anything physiological that happens to me ?
I haven't had a cold sore may be for about 6 years or so, and when searching remedies I found the artificial sweetener link, and i know in the lat few weeks I have been overdoing the sweeteners. |

Sandy,
I was just kidding with u about the vitamin C. But anyways, I think vitamin C or any vitamin is only necessary in certain individuals. Overdoing it isn't good either as I will mention in my post about vitamin C, zero carb and estrogen.
Don't worry so much. Take it easy. That's the best advice I have for you. _________________ "When you give up your dream, you die" |

Well I haven't been successful in getting back to near ZC ... however I am usually under 10 gms of carbs a day, I take a cup of lettuce or cabbage here and there (also have cream and plain yogurt but don't count those carbs *)... have no idea why am doing this, but am just gona go with the flow... perhaps am not motivated or committed enough as the admin of another forum (who banned me) suggested
Furthermore, am eating lots of calories (anything between 1800-2000 a day) but have managed to lose 1.5lb since the start of the week, dunno how, I've never been able to lose weight when consuming over 1500 calories a day

Not only are you losing weight on higher calorie, you are also nourishing
yourself well! And that's a great thing.
Especially with your important presentation coming up, make sure you
are well-fed and well-rested too. I'm sure you'll do very well and they
will be more than impressed although most of them won't admit it |

Sounds "near ZC" to me. How many carbs if you counted the cream and yogurt? Is there a reason you don't count them?
