If you've read the sandow site you probably don't need too much of an introduction to Maxalding.
Maxalding is basically the art and science of muscle control...and that include the heart and organs as well. The idea is to use the muscles in a way that they benefit the organs and the muscles, for health and willpower, versus killing oneself in an attempt to become big and muscular(such as in the modern mr. olympia) and prone to disease and injury.
The beautiful thing about it is that you can apply it to anything...breathing, moving, mobility, stability, strength, speed, endurance.
I've already improved my front squat and romanian deadlift flexibility, going all the way up and down without rounding my back at the bottom anymore(small weight, but I'm more then willing to go less than 100kg in such lifts to get better results in strength and flexibility, as well as speed.
So anyways..muscle control is simply that...flexing/tensing and relaxing. No weights are needed! Although weights can help you develop a great amount of muscle control, and should be used if you cannot 'feel' a muscle, especially the erectors, which are very hard to isolate.
Here's a small video just showing some of the Maxalding guys. No info, but cool nonetheless.

And of course, health strength and willpower, ala Maxalding, by Maxick and Monte Saldo.

I like the Sandow site a lot. Cool info there. I'm always interested in the old time strongman stuff.
A lot of those books are available as reprints from Bill Hinbern at http://superstrengthbooks.com/
I've bought a few over the years. Make for interesting reading. _________________ "Change. Nothin' stays the same. Unchained...And ya hit the ground runnin'."
