I decided to test my observations on how much better and more efficient my brain is functioning on this diet. I took some online IQ tests and my score is 20 points higher than it was 2 years ago at my last test. My IQ is now 10 points higher than my highest score which I received in grade school. I knew I felt smarter! Weight loss is continuing at an almost alarming rate of 9-10 pounds a week.
I've been reading some anthropology lately, and the scientists seem to agree that early human consumption of meat and fish is what allowed us to develop bigger and more functional brains. People have successfully halted the evolution of bigger brains for the last 10,000 years since the invention of farming. We need to try and popularize this diet as much as possible so we can point human evolution back in the right direction. Whos with me?

Yes, and this scares the crap out of me. Because I realize how overconsumptive our societies are, and yet the thought of having to adapt to some kind of grain-based diet in my lifetime depresses the hell out of me.
I'm not sure it will happen, however. The petroleum engineers I work with when I design drilling platforms say we've got about 100 years left of the oil. ???
Maybe don't panic yet.

never thought of it like that. I guess I could be happy just putting my friends and family on this. What if all current farm land was replaced by grazing pastures for cows and pigs and chickens and all that good food. I think we could feed at least the countries that can afford to eat meat all day. By the time this diet takes over as a way of living I think science will have found a way to synthesize all the necessary proteins and fats and fatty acids and whatever. But the food pill prediction is already over 100 years old now. So we will just have to live and see what happens. I'm not really trying to be an activist for anything though, it makes me feel too much like a vegetarian or a hippie. Not that I don't like hippies, they are some of the cooler people I know, I just dont want to be one. I'm just trying to get all you guys more motivated. _________________ plants are for sheep. Well, cupcake, you're preaching to the choir on this forum! We know where you're coming from!
Somebody would have to put a gun to my head to get me to go back to eating grains, fruits, and veggies. It ain't gonna happen as long as I have the means and the free will be a carnivore.

obviously the ranking members on here dont need the motivation, but the newbies and random people browsing the web definetely do. I feel the same way as you, I can't go back. Cheating has lost much of its allure for me after seeing all of these benefits. _________________ plants are for sheep. Don't be a sheep. |

I haven't yet reached that point as I'm still trying to fine tune things (read: get going 100% ). How long did it take you to get to the point of mental speediness? _________________ "Perfect enlightenment means spontaneous realization of your original nature." - The Fifth Zen Patriarch |

Beefcake, cupcake - to a carnivore - who cares!?!
A girl can have many cupcakes, cookies, pumpkins, and sugars.
I'll be your dame, your skirt, or your tomato! _________________ A surfer looks down the beach at Malibu towards the fire. |

Cavemate, what obstacles do you have to getting going? Maybe we can be of some help?
I don't think it's always easy to get started. We have a lot of programming to overcome. I doubt I could have gone from my carby diet straight to carnivore. It would have been too much to wrap my mind around. It was hard enough to go with Atkins. Believe me, with scientists in my family, I had thoughts in the back of my mind I would drop dead of a heart attack. _________________ A surfer looks down the beach at Malibu towards the fire. |

You know, I think the biggest obstacle I have is dragging my butt out of bed in the morning to pack my meals! Other than that it's keeping the faith that if I stick with it for long enough, that I'll adapt and no longer crave carbs as much. But I am getting there! _________________ "Perfect enlightenment means spontaneous realization of your original nature." - The Fifth Zen Patriarch |

It took me about 2 days after switching from atkins to completely no carbs no diet soda no low carb stuff. just meat eggs butter water and easy on the cheese. I had trouble sticking to diets for years. If you find yourself giving in you just have to go completely no carb and nothing sweet and you will lose your taste for carbs. Basically the lower the carb level you can stick to, the easier it gets to forget about them and appreciate the feeling you get when your systems are functioning properly. _________________ plants are for sheep. Dude! That was two years ago. Look at the date this crap was posted. I am trying to guide you grasshopper but you must listen. People on the ZC diet eat a lot of fat like in eggs and butter. We eat lots of meat from fattier parts of the cow like ribeys. You must consume copious amounts of fat, protein alone will lead rabbit starvation. In other words you will get sick if you try to get by without carbs or fat, you must chose one.
Here is a sample of what I eat
two eggs with cheese, bacon, coffee
Hamburger patty w/mayo
Ribeye with butter on the side
Forget low carb products. I repeat FORGET LOW CARB PRODUCTS, such as candy bars and shakes. They will be your undoing. I hope this helps some.
