Why Japanese people in Japan don’t get that fatNot proper research, but interesting article, I often wonder with my friends why whenever I go overseas for a while I end up losing weight, even though I don't think of the diet or even attempt to be on it
don't think this is a proper answer though

Great article.
Out of curiosity, why don't you think it's a proper answer?

I agree, great article. And like you Sandy, I've noticed that I always lose when I'm in Europe - I do think it's the fact that I walk and bike more, and eat regular meals. I think skipping meals, which tends to be my last resort to lose quickly, is a set up for failure. At least for me.

Changed my mind when I posted I didn't read all the comments posted, and I think it makes sense, and yes I often noticed women in big towns e.g. London / Manhattan are slimmer, when am working in London I end up losing weight cuz the underground is hell, I usually need my trainers to commute up and down the subways and steps.
However, I lose more weight in Europe (e.g. Amsterdam / Maastricht / Germany/China) and those towns don't have subways. But yeh it does make sense.
