whats the deal with raw milk? why does it have carbs & s

i always wonder about raw milk. i mean, it has carbs AND sugar even though its really high in fat and the fat soluble vitamins. what if the carbs and sugar in raw milk are ok for our bodies, or maybe they're different than carbs from sugar and stuff.
an interesting topic for discussion, post what you wish Happy

Rohmilk & milksuger

I am following what I read; we should stop drinking milk because of the loss of coping with too much milksuger. What does not get properly digested (in small intestine) is left to our bacteria (big intestine) to bee digested (not just fiber...) and they produce acid (the same way bacteria do to make joghurt) and this acid goes back into the blood stream, which goes also to our cells and causes trouble (canser cells feed on this typ of invirement)...
Best is to keep to cream (more fat : milk suger) or better double cream (England has cloted cream which has even 55% fat). Hard cheese is also very good (0 milk suger) which is a good change to just eating meat and egg! I found this in a book cald "The low carb and acid diat" (only in German) under www.schaub-institut.ch.

I personally believe that milk of any kind was not meant for human consumption. It's baby food for cows, for crying out loud. I don't see any possible way that nature intended for us to comsume it. Ok, before anybody else brings it up, I will come out and say that I could be considereda bit of a hypoctrite. Yes, I consume butter, cream, and cheese, all milk products. Guilty. But, these items are mostly fat and have had most of the nasties removed.

This is actually untrue. The body neutralizes acidic food and acidic byproducts of food to keep the body balanced. The body balances itself out.

Otherwise you'd see everyone who drinks milk die rather quickly.

I have just been told by bear "It matters not what anyone else says, you either accept my word... Either do it by my simple rules- or forget it!!! Do you know what is true? The body neutralizes acidic food and acidic byproducts just like the body puts up with a lot of other problems for a years Cry !!!

Milk sugar isn't the reason I avoid dairy. While I'm not lactose intolerant, Casein (milk protein) causes major digestive problems for me.

Agreed. Whatever the sugar does is nothing compared to the ill effects that milk protein has for many people.

As for why it has sugar.. it's for babies, and the specific makeup of milk is the best thing for them, that is why milk has carbs/sugar. Human milk is very sweet compared to cows milk so apparently tiny humans need the sugar as well. Bear mentioned something about the milk teeth being designed for this....

Also, the macronutrient ratio of breast milk changes depending on the diet of the mother. The more sugar the mother consumes, the more carbohydrate the milk contains. There's a lot of interesting information about this in Kwasniewski's books. If a mother consumes a lot of sugar, then she is giving her infant a taste for sugar before they even taste solid food. But yes, considering how much growing and development a baby has to go through in the first 2 or 3 years of life, it only makes sense that their requirements would be different from ours.

I would venture to say that human breast milk was meant for human consumption.

Of course I agree. The question was about raw milk. My statement was meant to mean that cow's milk was not meant for human consumption, raw or otherwise. I'm all in favor of breast milk! Evil
