Stallone

Has anyone seen Rocky Balboa? I am astounded by Stallone's body at the age of 60. He is in amazing shape. I know he's not zero carb, but rather seems to do a low glycemic, high protein, low-fat type of dealie. Whatever he's doing works, man. His body is great and has been all along. I know he trained with Franco Columbu for Rambo II when he was ridiculously ripped, but now he says he only works out 3 times a week with a routine that is similar to HIIT. I'm almost tempted to buy his book. I bet his workout routine combined with zero carb would produce results.

His abs are still visible, his arms are huge... his pectorals seem to have deflated slightly, though. If you compare him with arnold (who obviously doesn't need to train anymore, considering his new job), Stallone seems to have really stayed in amazing shape.

Stallone's in great shape, no doubt...
Is he doing a HIIT routine or a HIT routine? I'd definitely like to check out his book.

I'm not sure. I just ordered a $3.00 used copy from amazon, so I'll let you know!

Also, Tekno, how's your new workout regimen going? I want to hear you're having great results, so I'm motivated to get going with it too! Yup I'm not going to wait for my Stallone book to arrive - I'll start a twice-a-week regimen now, I think, just using the techniques I already know and have seen on the internet. My work has a gym - maybe I'll use the weights there (although, I usually like to get away from work as quickly as I can!).

I do think that when I tried having a personal trainer before I was overtraning and not eating enough (I was on 'the zone' diet and training really hard at least 4 days a week), which was causing me not to have great results. I did notice a tiny amount of definition in my back and arms, but nothing to write home about and it was after a full year. I'm hoping that the combination of enough calories, zero carb and getting back to weight training will finally bring some visible results!

I'm pumped!

I remember reading that for one of his movies (I think it was Rambo) he went on old-style bbrs cutting diet: tuna and water.

I think his physique is an even greater accomplishment when one considers how much fat he put on for the movie "Copland." I recall that he also said that he only uses dumbells for his upper body due to a training injury he sustained doing bench press.

If you enter this site and go to the ¨exercise and nutrition¨ section you will find something about his trainning. Apparently Stallone has a great will power and determination, that´s why he is one of a kind. Besides different nutritional or work-out strategies advocated by different people, will power and determination are the ONLY things that you can´t lack if you want to achieve results.

¨If I have a busy business week and can only work out twice that week, I cut my food intake in half. I run my body like a car. If I have a long way to go, I fill up with 'fuel' - good high energy foods. If I'm not doing much I keep it on half empty. And I give my body enough 'maintenance' in the form of physical workouts to keep it running perfectly. When I'm in shape, I feel terrific.¨

Stallone is well known for his muscular physique, hard work and determination. Even Arnold Schwarzenneger once said Sylvester has awesome willpower.

"Sly is the most disciplined man that you'll ever meet in any walk of life," says his personal bodyguard Gary Compton. "He doesn't eat real late, he doesn't snack, and he doesn't eat much. Pasta? Yes, but not too often, and only when it's made with a special flour. Fish and brown rice are staples. He even eats fish for breakfast. He drinks little alcohol, but occasionally enjoys champagne. Quick energy? Would you believe oatmeal cookies? Of course, without processed sugar of preservatives."

I recall for
Rocky III (where he was ripped to shreds), he was doing steak and eggs .

I think he and Bruce Lee are the kings of illusion.

Silly low bodyfat can really cause a "lighter" person to look buff.

Frnak Zane as well,he never won the Olmypia weighing over 200lbs

But being ripped make you appear so little in clothes ! Cry Cry

That is so true Max thunder..

I saw Frank Zane in the 80's and he just looked like a person in very good shape, not a 3 time MR. O.
