So where's all the contrary folks?Rob sets up this forum just for contrariness, and then it just stops? Or is it just not the same doing it here as it is doing it in the other forums.
For all you phsychologists out there, there's got to be a lesson to be learned in this. But what is it?

Sometimes all you have to do is paint a picture and the others will fill in the thousand words.

Oh, gee, I don't want to not help out around here, but I honestly think I'm more the type for a WHINING FORUM.

Thanks Rob and Reddy (sounds like a team, doesn't it?),
I'm not sure if you were kidding or not about making me the moderator, but either way, I appreciate your votes.
It doesn't seem as though you will need a moderator, though, does it, as contrarians would probably be not come here because then it would be an admission that they are just being contrary. So, there probably wouldn't be a lot of activity here. I don't know what a moderator's responsibilities are, but if you do want a moderator here, I would be glad to do it. I have to tell you though that I still have chronic fatigue and I have to go back to work next week. It's only part time, but I won't have as much time to spend here as I have the last couple of weeks. Also, I am hoping my body will accept this diet, but I actually still feel as if I am doing a daily experiment. The reason I said I would be good for a whining forum is that I am still having a lot of pain and have a lot of whines running running around in my head.
Again, thank you for the votes and thanks for keeping this place running. It's almost impossible to do a diet like this just by reading a book. It takes a lot of combined input by people actually doing it.

How can anyone take your angry words seriously with that picture of a little viking that makes me smile every time I see it?

Okay, here is something to fight about: I am making coleslaw for my veghead family today so, should I add shredded carrots to the cabbage or not?
Coleslaw with carrots? or coleslaw without carrots?
Now duke it out

I wish I could be more tuned in to all the ALC vs ANC gossip, (I do love gossip!) but since I wasn't a member of ALC before, I am behind the times and don't really know all the details. That, and since I joined ALC after joining this group (just so that I could check it out and post here and there, when I thought it might be appropriate), they accepted my membership, but started me out as suspended! I'm not even allowed to make one post or reply!

Oh, and I vote no carrots. Very high in veg toxins, while cabbage is still quite low.

Now that's interesting. I can eat carrots (although they taste like crap) but cabbage makes me throw up, literally. Even just some cabbage in a vegetable soup will leave me gagging.

Raw cabbage damages thyroid tissue.

Yes, cabbage damages your thyroid because it contains goitrogens, but you can't make coleslaw without it. So I vote no carrots so as to not add to the problem with more salicylates. Neither of them is good!
I guess it's like a tamer version of saying 'should I just do the heroin alone tonight, or go for a speedball!'.

i would'nt consider myself a contratarian, but i do believe that one should do their own research and come to a conclusion of what foods are best for themselve and how it makes them feel- short and long term.regardless of what any quack or guru says to eat..some people i bet hate beef or have a hard time digesting it but still gag it down believing that it's good for them- because they read it somewhere or whatever.. instead of listening how it effects the body and health.I enjoy this WOE but still keep my eyes and ears open to other ways of imroving my health
