Raw sicknessI noticed a lot of people have trouble digesting raw meat. I just had a yummy rare steak but I've already got a stomach ache. Hopefully no diarrhea...
Some people have problems but others don't. My thoughts are it's something to do with bacterial content. Just like you get food poisoning when you go to a foreign country, I think you have to get used to the natural bacterial content of meat and eggs. People in foreign countries don't get sick because they're used to the bacteria in their food but foreigners will get sick at first but build up resistance.
So I plan to build up raw slowly and see what happens, right now really rawr doesn't agree with my stomach, but it should be easy on the digestion.

I thought you were off beef right now (I could be wrong!)? Are you hoping that you'll tolerate rare beef better than medium or well-done? Hope it works out! I'm sure some people would say that the initial reactions to rare/raw are from detox, but I question all that detox stuff. Not to offend anyone, but it seems to come from that same school of Candida craziness that I think is mostly erroneous. I'd say it's probably more a result of needing to build up a resistance to bacteria, as you said. Here's hoping I haven't offended any big-time Candida/detox believers! No harm meant

I was off beef for a little while, but I introduced it back in past two days because I was craving it! The label states it was grass fed so I think it is okay, no reaction yet, although i'm feeling rough today, I overindulged on cream carbs by accident this morning (hopefully not a dairy reaction).
I figure raw meat is more nutritious...I want to move onto raw so I can ditch all the supplements. Cooked meat does not give me any problems, but raw distinctly makes me crampy and what not...thanks for the support!

Hmm now i'm a bit confused. Today I roasted a really tender joint rare (yummmmy). The label stated it was fed grass and barely, so gluten. I've been cutting steaks off it all day and feeling great. No digestive issues, just good mood and energy! Well i'll certainly do this more often. Only thing is I don't seem to feel 'full' with rare meat.

I don't feel full with raw meat either, I figured it was because it was so easily digested that the meat wasn't sitting there in my gut waiting to be broken down. Maybe it's another reason? I feel better eating raw, but enjoy the full feeling from cooked...........part of my eating issues
