Raw Egg Smoothie

Here's what I'm hoping for: a smoothie made from raw eggs, a splash of cream, ice, a dash of stevia, and a trace of flavorings (cinnamon, sf vanilla extract, cold espresso, etc.). No fruit - I'm trying to do NO vegetation as I'm M&E until goal!!

I guess my goal is a essentially zero carb smoothie that has a faint sweet taste, but tons of protein.

Any takers on proportions or recipes??? I may experiment - we'll see how brave I get!

Sigh...I'm so impatient!

Here's what I tried:

3 eggs
6 ice cubes
1.5 cups cold water
1/4 t. sf vanilla extract
2 dashes of cinnamon
1/4 t. decaf freeze-dried coffee crystals
Stevia to taste (I used one of the teeny tiny scoop that comes in the jar)
1 T. heavy cream

Zipped in the blender until smooth...

Just what I wanted - cold, high protein, mildly sweet, very flavorful.

Did it taste good? It sounds good!

You could also up the fat by adding a few yolks by themselves. Then you can make Meg's egg crepes with the whites! Happy

OH, it's good. Especially after 8 days with NOTHING sweet. Yum, yum, yum. Smile

Bee Wilder's Raw Egg Drink

This recipe is given great credit to Bee Wilder, the wonderful woman who started my anti candida yahoo group...

Bee’s Raw Egg Drink

Contains: 19 grams of protein, 65 grams of fat and 4 grams of carbs.

3 raw large whole eggs (or 4 medium), preferably “certified organic” free-range

2 tablespoons coconut oil

2 tablespoons butter (organic or certified organic cultured & unsalted is best)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, or to taste

1 pinch of stevia sweetener, or to taste

2 – 2 ˝ cups of boiled filtered water

Put the first 6 ingredients in a blender and add boiled water last. Close the cover well, and blend.

Some people like this drink hot, while others prefer it cold.

All ingredients can be adjusted to suit individual needs. For example if you are just starting on coconut oil add 1 teaspoon and gradually increase the amount over time (every 4-5 days) to minimize die-off reactions. The number of eggs can be increased or decreased, along with any other ingredients.

Eggnog

You must tweak the amounts to come up with the consistency you like.

And you won't need any artificial sweeteners for this!

Eggnog
2 ice cubes
4-6 raw egg yolks
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 tbsp nutmeg
1/4 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract

Blend the crap out of this... and it will be nice and full-bodied. Wink

Smoothie

These smoothies are a nice way to get good things like raw egg yolks, coconut milk, coconut oil, cinnamon, etc. into your daily diet. They are very yummy as well! Smile

These are 85-90% FAT!... and they're dairy free! Wink

Smoothie
12 ice cubes
1/2 cups berries
6 raw egg yolks
1 can coconut milk
6 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp nutmeg

These amounts work well for a 5-cup blender, but you must tweak the amounts for your own preferences. You can get three real nice servings out of this 5-cup blender (which will be full). Each serving will be about 600 calories. You could divide it up into more servings with less calories. They're very filling and deeeeeelish! Happy

Here are the base ingredients to work with:

ice cubes
berries

raw egg yolks

coconut milk
coconut oil

vanilla extract
almond extract

cinnamon
nutmeg

Here are some berries that are good to add:

strawberries
red raspberries
blackberries
blueberries
mixed berries

Try using maple flavoring instead of vanilla. Yummy!

Per Alisa's suggestion, I decided to try my smoothie semi-invention with egg yolks.

Updated recipe is:

5-6 egg yolks
6 ice cubes
1.5 cups cold water
1/4 t. sf vanilla extract
2 dashes of cinnamon
1/4 t. decaf freeze-dried coffee crystals
Stevia to taste (I used one of the teeny tiny scoop that comes in the jar)
1 T. heavy cream

Zipped in the blender until smooth...

Pretty good - less 'thick' than the whole egg version, but I still liked it. Mildly sweet...and I was VERY full afterwards!!

Next one will be with maple flavoring... Cool

I tried this recipe and love it. I feel so full too, a good thing. One mistake I made was add too much sweetener, I used sweetzfree and it was way sweeter than I am used to. I also used regular instant coffee, this would be so good for brekfast! I love the coffee flavored smoothie!

I am very interested in egg smoothies, but I have a concern or rather a question. Over at Wai Diet, it was said that blending eggs(yolks) in a blender, denatured the protien. That mixing the yolk into the smoothie afterwards, with a fork gently was the way to go.

Any ideas on this? I do like how blending really whips up a smoothie, but wouldn't want to hurt the protien either.
