Raw breakfastOkay, I'm sitting here eating Steak Tartare, very slowly, tiny bites.
It tastes very good and I like the texture, but I can't look at it while I'm eating it. Too weird.
I hoping that will get better. Almost couldn't eat it. Especially for breakfast. I'm so acculturated to eating cooked meat. The idea of going raw appeals to me on some visceral/primitive level, so I'm trying...

I know how you feel. I couldn't look the first few times I did it as well.
Now I like to buy hunks of top or bottom round and cut off my own steaks about 1 1/2-2" in thickness and about 5" long or so. That way I can sear all 4 sides easily and still have the middle be cool and raw.

Try eating it while watching tv/surfing the net. I've done that. Or just slowly break yourself in by eating rare but not raw.
Damn, i'm proud of you!!!

I think I'm going to have to go back to rare for a little longer. I ate about 2 (out of 5) ounces of it, and then couldn't eat any more. Slight feeling of nausea, but not overwhelming. Full, though.
Dang. Thanks for your suggestions...I'll keep trying.
By the way, I still ate raw for the rest of my breakfast - I had some of my homemade pork jerky instead.

You know...I only had a few bites of raw burger tonight and I noticed a little later feeling nauseated. I had also just had a peice of cheese so I put it down to that. I'll have to experiment with some more raw meat and see what happens.
