Pulled Pork

What kind of pork do I buy to make pulled pork? I was reading recipes on line that say pork butt ?? so I can look for that. I guess this is a slow-cooker situation, too. Anybody ever make pulled pork? And what about a sauce for it?

Pork butt or boston butt (which is actually the top of the shoulder) works best. I smoke mine until it reaches an internal temp of 190 and eat it without any sauce. To "pull" it, take two forks and shred it a chunk at a time. When I did do sauces, I just used a bbq sauce for it.

Pulled pork? I really don't even need to make the rude comments, do I? Laugh Evil

Scout, if you don't have a smoker, see my recipe for Slow-cooked pork shoulder (which is just another word for pork butt). When it's cooked, it's fall-apart tender and you can 'pull' it with two forks, the same way. It just doesn't have the smoked aspect.
