ooooooo...I did it!I ate two hamburgers for dinner that were barely seared on the outside, barely warm in the middle, with a little melted butter and garlic powder.
And it tasted good!!!!!!! And, I'm full.
Going raw might not be too bad.
I'm thinking about doing the steak tartare for breakfast now.
My transformation may be about complete.
I've come to the "Dark Side."
So, tell me, raw meaters...does eating raw really enhance/speed along your weight loss? I want stories/data!!! Please??

wow, good for you!!!
I'm not sure about the weight loss involved in raw. But some people on my paleo list are "instincto" meaning the eat one type of food, like raw meat, until satisfied, and it's supposed to result in "listening to your body." I think they eat all raw.
I can't wait to see replies. I just had a huge plate of sashimi, and I feel so awesome. I haven't done raw beef yet, I have done rare, but it's something i'm slowly working on. I can also do raw eggs.

I don't know about increasing weight loss but I think eating beef raw tastes better, doesn't get stuck in your teetch, it's better for the protein and it generally freaks the shit out of people.

Also, raw meat is much more nutritious. Cooking destroys nutrients. and, it freaks the shit out of people!

I love to freak people out!!
And, man, I am freakin' them out just talking about this WOE. I've come to the point of telling them..."just hide and watch"!!
I can't wait for the people at work to see the way Mark and I will be eating...almost all of them eat their meat well done
Oh well, this is a good way to keep them out of my office at lunch time!!

LOL Sallie!!!
When my Grandmother came to stay with us for a month I had to constantly reassure her that I was NOT tricking her and sneaking raw eggs and meat into her food. The poor thing was so afraid I would try! She grew up in India and cooks the shit out of everything and CANNOT get around the idea of rare. My poor late Grandfather who would order his steak "brought through a warm room" at a restaurant was almost never able to endulge. He and I would wait until she was not looking to pop an entire runny yolk from the sunny side up eggs into our mouth and smirk at each other. I wish HE could come to visit now, we would have a blast eating together... loving the stinky cheeses and raw animal products.

My folks are both from India and they cannot fathom how I could eat any protein raw!!! Since I enjoy eggs, milk, and meat all raw they just close their eyes during dinner!

Yeah it is pretty funny to be eating dinner with people who avert their eyes at what you're doing. My Grandmother would watch me in disgusted fascination (raw eggnog, or raw meat) but MIL couldn't even look at my plate when I cut the meat. It's not like I use poor table manners or anything, you can eat with delicacy even if the flesh isn't cooked. My mother in law used to be forced to eat raw eggs as a child though so I can see where she would have a thing against them. Her father would make her sit alone in a huge empty bathroom until she ate them and sometimes she would be in there for an entire day.

Reddy,
Do you eat raw chicken as well? That and fish seem to be the meats that freak people out the most when they're raw.

I've eaten raw chicken and turkey a few times, it was actually really good. I had it thinly sliced and marinated in lemon juice on the counter for a few hours, another time I marinated it in the fridge overnight, it looks cooked after the marinade. The only problem I have with it is that I don't really trust the surface, so I have to pour boiling water over the surface and then do the slicing and marinade etc. it's kind of a lot of work for what you get out of it and right now I'm all about LESS WORK in the kitchen, since I have a spirited 17 month old accompanying me and "helping" me every time I want to make something.
I don't eat raw fish right now (I did in NY) because I don't have a source for fresh fish. I don't have a source for fresh meat for that matter either Everything is absolutely stripped of fat and really really aged.
