NEW zero carb forum

In case anybody over here doesn't know yet, Charles Washington, a Gary Taubes and GCBC disciple, has created a new zero carb forum that was created, I believe, this past October. I've been a member there since December. There is A LOT of posting and discussion over there. I know many of you already have found Charle's forum, but for those that haven't: Come on over!

It's boring as shit.
From the other hand if you decided that you only need to eat meat and water why do you need any forum anyway. Forum is for people who try to keep eating other foods while enjoying perfect health and wellbeing.

yeah I agree.  I just glaze over most of the posts really, as no-one seems to challenge anything anymore - which is all part and parcel of coming to a conclusion and gives more interesting reading.  Charles already made all the conclusions for everybody.

Not saying that zero carb can't be great.  It can.  Just don't like the tone of that forum.

I've never been fond of the whole 'if it's not working for you, you must either be cheating and lying or you must have something horribly wrong with you' attitude. Just my very humble opinion.
LOOPS

yeah I agree.  It would be fine by me if why it wasn't working was really addressed - but it never is.  Personal experience means nothing if it does not reflect the diet positively - that's just crazy stuff.  Still, at least it's not a vegan forum lol.  I really really hate those.

I TOTALLY agree guys(and gals). Charles has developed this totalitarian dogmatism. Zero carb DOES NOT work for EVERYBODY. I live for periods of time on nothing but beef, beef fat, and water but other times I vary my diet a little. Even "the Bear" said he thought women needed more carbs than men. But who gives a shit what "the Bear", Charles, or Gary Taubes opinions are on diet. It all comes down to listening to OUR unique bodies and finding what is optimal for us. Why continue something thats not working just to follow some "perfect"  dogma. I get mad when people in the zero carb circle are turning this into a dogma like raw veganism. We don't want to be like that.

The magic of a "working life" Shock

So what is the magic that makes you say "life works"? Life is constant work so what is your definition of "working" Wow ?

I loved it when Charles was doing the GCBC posts on LLVLC. It was a wealth of information and it helped me a lot.

ZC was not a panacea for me and for others I know and I agree, there is no room for discussion on that site (or the old ZC thread on LLVLC). Many of the people I liked the most stopped posting there long ago. There seems to be no room for even sincere inquiries or attempts to figure out why ZC doesn't work for everyone. There are still people there who are stalled on ZC yet stick with it. There are also a growing number of ED types who are drawn to the extreme nature of the diet.

What I liked about Charles' approach in the beginning was the scientific nature of the posts. Now it has turned into a religion. It works for him- end of story.

It gets better:

Now we've got a young male gaining fat on meat only.

Assuming it's not any of us trolling zero board it's really interesting. Actually it's not since we know it's possible to gain fat on meat only but at least it's interesting in their small universe.

God hates carbs!

If you had even the slightest knowledge of the scriptures you would know this to be true!

You are all a bunch of carb enablers!

Yeah Nicola - eh....eh?

Come on, share the weed!

Hmm, about weight gain - I'm not sure it all adds up to what it's supposed to anyway.  I'm currently sitting at my highest weight ever but lost an inch round my waist just by doing what I've always done - eating lots of fat.  Where is the weight coming from?  Not more muscle - I have the same as before.  Maybe my bones are heavy now?   Laugh

Like they say - if you look at the world and health trends, the only thing that really truly is bad for your health is speaking English.
