making own beef fati know on topic some where someone posted how to render their own beef fat down but i cant find it. The local butcher is keeping all his beef off cuts of fresh beef fat for me and i am picking it up friday . So if any nice person out there knows how to render it down please could u post it again for me.

I didn't see this earlier, hope I'm still in time!
I just cut the fat up in chunks and throw mthem in a pan and put it on a very low fire. I turn the chunks every half hour or so, but the fat just melts of and as son as I have half an inch or so, I pour it in another pan so it doesn't heat upo too much and let the rest continue.
it is great for frying steaks!!

I now have the chopped up beef fat on the oven top fingers crossed it turn out ok.
