Kettlebells and traininganyone here use Kettlebells for their weight training regimine? i want to start lifting again, but don't want to go to a gym or bog myself down with too much excersize equitment in my house. Also gonna be working ALOT this winter and need something quick, intense and challenging workout.I have gotten alot of monthly newsletters from Pavel and Dragondoor products and have been reading about kettlebells for the longest time, now considering trying them out.The people that use them seem to be in excellent shape, lean, muscular and cut up.Might just go back to the basic barbells and DB routines, but they are boring me quite a bit
they get the job done i guess, and i DO get cut up- but it just gets boring.

Well, I am a huge fan. I use Kbells to for all kinds of one sided training things, walks, carries, runs, tosses, you name it.
"Enter the Kettlebell" is outstanding. The forward, by the way, is written by a genius in brilliant poetry.

I've never used kettlebells, but I know how good they are. They're just like dumbells, except they're better for overall strength and it has more carry-over to the real world since they have that benefit of being more similar to odd objects.
You can do a lot of whole (singled-armed) body exercises with them such as snatches, cleans, power press, etc. I plan to buy one.
I've made myself a sandbag, a friend made me a bag from some military very strong material, I've myself filled some thick plastic bags with different sand quantity to get different bags with different weights, and I fill to big bag with these. You can then do a lot of great exercises with these, use your imagination.

If you're into lifting unbalanced, awkward stuff, take a look at Dinosaur Training.

I used to write for the Dinosaur Files. His materials have become....expensive. I think I have all of my old articles on my site still.

I'd LOVE to have some kettlebells.. can't justify the expense to Dh though, I have so many other things. I only do a few KB exercises, eg: swing and for that I load up a dumbell with weight on one side, and just put a single small plate on the other. I hold the small plate with my hands and have the heavier side as the bottom. I've made contraptions where I have a short length of pvc to grip, with a rope going through it and through the centre hole of a bunch of dumbell plates. However it's not practical for many of the moves.

Max!
been lookin' for ya, forgot which earlier post u replied 2 :[
u mentioned eatin' only once per day. i assume u train intensely to maintain that, erm physique
question is, do u take anything other than water the rest of the day?
cud safely assume u eat either lunch or dinner *waiting for that hunger to strike* but i cud be mistaken.
and if i may ask..do u closely monitor waist + upper-arm circumference? in relation to food intake.
