Some people who left the forum and went to another one (Dean's magic bus forum) were pretty serious runners. Heather and Jeff (jL53563). Heather started to run in February for the first time in her life and this August completed her first half marathon, as far as I know Jeff ran it as well - not a the same location but the same distance just to keep her "company."
They both always reported such ease with running on zero carb.

I doubt long distance running is healthy (especially marathons).
Training like HIIT and other forms of high intensity training seem to give much better results.
GPP (general physical preparedness) which usually involve exercises like sled dragging, various full body lifts with weights, etc (you can even create your own fun exercises...) can give you a better breath than long distance running.
Stick to shorter distances, improve your speed. You gotta hunt your prey, you're not running looking around for tubers and berries and nice flowers!

Yeah, carnivore is a great plan for running. I'm doing 8-10 miles a day 5-6 days a week and running a marathon in October. Loads of energy. Switching from Atkins "OWL" to no-carb didn't affect my wind or endurance at all.
There is some evidence that long-distance running leads to oxidative stress in the body. Of course, there are also the problems long-term of bone and joint problems, like arthritis. I enjoy it too much to stop, however. In fact, I doubt I would be enjoying it nearly as much if I had to rely on it to "lose weight" while doing high-carb. Just stay in tune with your body, back off when you need to, take it slowly to avoid injuries, do a little stretching afterwards or some yoga postures or something, and have fun. Try to stick to softer surfaces, like fire trails, dirt, or grass. Watch your step with the potholes, too.

thats why running is healthy, because of that oxidative stress you actually live longer!
a little of poison is actually good for you, dioxin for example in low doses could help you get healthier
your body gets tronger to avoid that damage caused by poison, just like how building muscle works

I'm glad to hear that because I was a runner 25 years ago. I would love
to get into it again after losing about 150 to 200 pounds.

I posted about this in my journal, but I tried jogging for the first time in about 4 or 5 months last night. Since the last time I jogged, I have started smoking again, but I have also gone zero-carb and am probably about 20 lbs lighter than I was then. Well, my performance was more than twice as good, even though I was starting from scratchand am now a smoker again. I am by no means good at jogging yet, (I can only go for 3 or 4 minutes at a time, then need a walking break), but I am so much better than before (I could only go for 1 min. maximum). I have extra motivation to quit smoking now, as I know it will improve my performance even further. This is definitely the push I needed.

Sounds like you are keto-adapted, red! Nice work!
Can you do a splits, by any chance?

Despite my efforts in bed, two nights ago, no.
Too much information?
I used to be able to do them when I was younger because I used to be very big into dancing as a kid (both my parents are dance teachers). Even then, it took a lot of work to get there, as I was never the most flexible or skinny kid. It just took constant practicing and stretching. I couldn't do sideways splits - just the front to back kind. And only on one side. And only for about a week.
Perhaps a splits should be one of my new goals... I'd love to get involved in dancing again, too.

No, never too much information. (I'm a voyeur.)
I'm also really tight and stiff. I'm going for the side-to-side kind. I was stretching on the floor in front of this guy I'm seeing, and he said it made him hot, so now I want to be able to do the whole 9 yards with the splits. Fuck, I'll probably tear something trying to do it, but it might be worth it!

Here's hoping the only thing you tear is the crotch of your pants!
Perhaps that will make it easier access anyway.

P.S. You may now consider this thread officially highjacked!

Keep going. Scout you're not the only voyeur

This guy has a couple of dogs that were sniffing while I was on his floor stretching, and I said, "Can you call off your dogs?" and the guy just sat on the sofa, didn't say anything, just kept watching me!
Jesus, with my luck, I'll finally get into a splits position and then get stuck there! Oh, well, maybe he can just push me over if that happens. Whatever.

Who wants to go stretching with me??
