I Challenge Myself Challenge!I almost started a journal a few days back, but deleted it. Why? Two reasons, 1. It really didn't have to do with No meat no carbs and it was my own silly idea, not to put it down ehem and 2. I need that slap in the face I had a year and a half ago. I'm out of control. The jeans I could fit back into are getting TIGHT! What my challenge is, is not meat but veggie/fruit juice. 7-days of it. I've done this twice since then. I went from 194lbs to 184lbs in 7 days, but more importantly it broke my cycle of binging. Over the next year I hit 154 and was beyond happy. I'd like to be 145 but would settle for 148. I haven't been able to get past 151, and of this morning was 166lbs. AARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! I had a whole 'nother plan and had just bought food for it and the day went so well yesterday and today up til 6:00pm. But I made the mistake of making too much and there were leftovers that found their way 'into my belly' And there were those damn Atkins shakes left also, so I had one of those. I don't feel well now and the house could explode if someone lit a match here if you get my drift .
So that's it. So what if I waste some food! I'd rather waste it than eat too much of it.
here's the plan:
| Quote: | For the 7-day detox juice fast, a different juice is consumed each of the seven days:
• Day 1: Apple and celery juice: Intestines, liver, kidneys. Use 1/2 apple juice and 1/2 celery juice.
• Day 2: Pineapple juice: Enzyme bromelain for the small intestine. Also specifically helpful for inflammation, allergies, arthritis, edema, and hemorrhoids.
• Day 3: Lemon juice and water: Detoxify and cleanse the liver. Add the fresh juice of 1/2 lemon for cup of water.
• Day 4: Carrot Juice: Liver, lungs, kidneys, eyes.
• Day 5: Beet Juice: Removes toxins from the liver into the bloodstream. Also specifically helpful for arthritis and menstrual problems.
• Day 6: Green Juices: Believed to cause an exchange of toxins across membranes resulting in the systematic flushing of toxins out of the body. Also specifically helpful for circulation, skin, digestive problems, obesity, bad breath
• Day 7: Distilled Water: Cleanses the entire system. |
I've never made it throught the last, water day, but who cares. I'll take the first six.
okay, okay, I'm off to the market for some rib eye, I mean, apples DOHHH!!!

Good morning and Thanx Jeff!
I picked up the apples, celery and pineapple to get started with. Then a Celentano Eggplant parmagiana- to finish off the horrid day binge! What was I thinking! Then I remembered the ceviche I'd made earlier in the day! Meant for todays lunch! Then I thought, okay let's postpone the fast one day, I'll eat the cevichie and honestly I was thinking, YAY! one more day to eat whatever the hell I want! What was I thinking! Fortunately, last midnight I sampled some of the cevichie- enough to say there, it is good. I'm glad it was a single portion.
I just drank my first glass-o-juice and breathe a sigh that I didn't cop out today. Damn temptation! If I want to be an Amazon Warrior Princess, then I'd better fit into that Xeta costume
I'd thought of doing the Atkins induction again, but I'd tried it a couple months back, and I think it just wasn't, well, it's too easy. Meaning I think what's good about this juice fast is I have no desire to binge on juice. I like that it's simple, cheap and only for seven days.
I refuse to gain the weight back!

I'd like to fast at some point, for the mental part of it. I don't know when it would be reasonable to do it for more than a day or two becuase I'm going to need milk production for at least 2 years but I'm still very interested.... I'd drink juiced things like celery and cabbage mainly as an interest factor so it's not just water, maybe some kombucha too. Your list of juices and what they do is interesting though. 145 is my goal as well, it should have me pretty lean and defined but without veins popping out in my upper thigh and groin area which to me is unattractive in women.

For those who've read Thin So Fast (the first book by the author of Protein Power,) a PSMF (Protein Sparing Modified Fast) is a nice compromise if you don't want to do a full blown water fast.
I gave it a shot for a week. It boils down to basically: 100 grams protein 40 grams carbs and 60 grams fat. Bigger/smaller people probably want to scale those #s a bit. Basically this is done as 4 protein shakes/day mixed down with potassium salt.
The first 3 days I was very energetic on it, but then it started to get unpleasant. It took nearly 5 lbs. off me though...which my handy dandy bodyfat tester claimed was almost purely fat.

Thank you VikingDan! I might use this idea as I come off the juice fast. I never heard of this PSMF before, but I guess it's logical. God, more Googling!

I love psmf. I did for a month several years ago and took off 10 lbs that absolutely were not wanting to come off regardless of how low my carbs were and how high my exercise was. I actually got to 148..for a few days

Good morning!
My spirit at this moment seems better than recent, moments . Mood swing wise anyways. Today is my fourth fasting day, of only carrot juice. I woke up feeling quite hungry and was prepared to make carrot soup rather than juice, but the first glass of juice totally fixed my pangs. I had a glass around 7am and only now at 11 am I thinking of making another. So we're still on track Boyyyeeee!!!
6lbs down. Weight at 160lbs without cheating by leaning. Tomorrow will be important for I haven't seen the '50s in a bit. And I've been making plans for afterwards. Very exciting. I was sort of depressed this morning, and Frankly, don't call me Frankly, I've been very depressed because of my living situation, but in this moment(dramatic pause) I'm not. Hmmm...
Peace People,

Alright I am nosey.. what is your living situation if it's not too personal to share??
In a nutshell psmf is lean protein nothing else. There is a way to calculate how much you need, like grams per pound or something, and you supplement with a little fish oil in order to have essential fats so you don't die. Then depending on how fat you are you get a certain amount of cheat meals and or refeeds per week or two.

I hate to dampen the libido-fest you know where, but my Challenge ended today 3.5 days in. Shortly after I wrote above, I got very sleepy and napped from noon til two. Which isn't all that surprising since I woke up at 5:30am, but I was definitely feeling light headed...
Sunny side up eggs came next. 2 delicious golden orbed(let's keep our libidos checked plase1) sacks-oh-goo, melting in my mouth for I ate the whites, chewed them well, then carefully catapulted each yolk into my oroface. Yes, oroface! Sigh.
I'll have some homemade carrot beet garlic soup tonight, pureed, as I'd alredy bought the beets. Man they bleed! don't they.
Hopefully I'll still hit 159lbs tomorrow, and will ease into real food over the next three days so maybe by mid week, I'll reach 154. I don't know if I mentioned in my intermittent post that I'd reached 170! That's nearly gaining back half of what I lost!
I hate gaining weight. I hate that I like fattening food. I'm going to have hate tattooed on my fingers! NO, Love, love, love! Is all I need.
okay bye,
Love Avalon
p.s. Thanx for asking about my situation, I really appreciate that. I think I'll need a glass of wine for that a lot is just self-sabatoge stuff
