Honest to God ZC for one week, who is with me?

Starting Monday, to give myself and any else interested time to prepare, I will begin an all meat and water zero carb regiment for at least one week.  No dairy, not even butter, for one week.  Any takers?
adwred

No thanks, but I'll be cheering for you from the sidelines. Line Cheer
ReddyMcMeaty

I'm cheering for you too, and feeling sorry for your wife.

Beef and water here. And salt. I can drop coffee and spirits for a week so count me in.
Carnation

No butter?  I don't want to live in a world without butter!
Dustyboy

O.k. woof_woof, me and you buddy.  Anyone else?
Kristi31

I'm in but I've been doing it for 6 weeks now...just meat and water. You're lucky you don't live closer...i would challenge you both to an endurance race and prove to you that a woman can outdo the men!!! hehe!  Grin
Dustyboy

showoff
Dustyboy

But seriously how hard is it?  Can you tell a big diffrence in the way you feel and how much weight have you lost assuming you had any to lose.
Kristi31

I am now (day2), finally, feeling like a millions bucks on zero-carb. I can't even remember if it's hard switching, it's been such a long time...but I think the first few days are the hardest then it gets easier. If you can get past the first few weeks, the rest is a breeze and in my experience, so worth it.

Your call...try it and see what happens, see how you feel.

In the past I used many techniques on myself to force me to eat or not to eat specific foods.
Meat only is easy to follow since you feel great all the time and there is no grey area. It's meat and everything else. It's clear.

From the other hand I really like the mental state mix of coffee, booze, dairy and low protein intake puts me in. They are the only mind altering substances I use now.

I'm in!  Roll Eyes  Laugh  Shock  Outta Here

I'll do the opposite, no eggs, dairy or fish! Just good old fashioned other stuff!
Dustyboy

Ok, all lurkers it is time to annouce your allegance here.  Its me, woof_woof and Ava(in a weird sort of way). Monday to monday, meat and water only.
woof_woof

Since I'm busy at the moment I'm going to eat most of my meats raw.
With rendered tallow. And salt. And water.  Puke

Dustyboy

Alright, Carnation.  Now we've got a challenge going!
Avalander

Can I do it if I have diet coke and black coffee, too?
Avalander

Ok....

I guess I will start it anyway since no one answered me.... I will do meat only for one week except that I have to do black coffee and diet coke, too.
woof_woof

Avalander wrote:

No, you can have only the other coke.  Wink
Dustyboy

Meat and water, meat and water, Avalander.  Come on you can do it.  It is just 7 days.  Show the world that caffeine and artificial  sugar do not control you and that you are in charge of your own destiny and if not for the world then prove it to your self.  Is it hard?  Of course it is hard that it why it is a challenge.  What do you say?  Drop that cup of coffee and join us.
Dustyboy

Sorry for not answering last night but your post was past my bed time.
Dustyboy

I'm old.
Dustyboy

Well it is day one, my mental clarity so far is pretty good and I am in a good mood.  I feel a little weak right now but nothing major.  I had a lot of dreams about food that I am not suppose to have and that is a good sign most of the time.  I do not feel hungry like I would after my normal egg and cheese breakfast.  I had a steak to kick the challenge off.
Avalander

Arrrggghhhh!!!!!

I CAN'T do without coffee and diet coke on vacation!!  It will be hard enough to do meat only!

So far today I had a hamburger patty and water and a diet coke.

I will try no caffeine NEXT time!  Be nice to me!  I'm on vacation!

And you can't be THAT old--I can see your picture!
Dustyboy

I act like an old man.  If my wife would let me I would go to bed at 8 p.m. and wake up at 4 a.m.  We went out with a very young couple last night that are just now getting married and that is making me feel old as well.  I referenced "Slushies" they are kind of like "Icees"  And this guy says "I have never heard of that, must have been back in the 7-11 days."
redtoile

Hey I'm in but I have a question please.

Can someone remind me of how long the low energy lasts?
Is it forever or temporary?
I don't drink coffee or caffeine anymore so I can't count on that etc..?

What about B Vitamins? Will they give me energy?
Sorry so many questions!
I did this diet myself, alone last time and had no where to read advice.
I made up the diet (my way) after observing people on Survivor get skinny when they just ate meat for a while LOL

Laugh

What do you mean, 7-11 days? Doesn't 7-11 exist there anymore?? There's one at the closest major intersection to my house.

Forever! If you're me...

Quote:

No. Some B12 might give you a temporary buzz, the way coffee would, but I wouldn't muck around with supplements, if you can help it, especially B vitamins in isolation. You can throw yourself out of whack very quickly. The only thing that will truly give you energy is fat and/or carbohydrate. Those are the energy foods.
Carnation

On the other hand, I've never had a problem with low energy.  So, safe to say that it varies from person to person.
Dustyboy

No 7-11 is gone, sad but true.  Replaced by Totals and EZ marts.
adwred

Weird. What the hell is it still doing here, then?? I'm sure it's American-owned.
Dustyboy

Maybe they migrated.
Dustyboy

Are you suggesting that a gas station migrated?

Not at all it could be carried.

What? By a swallow?
Carnation

We've still got 7-11's here.
Dustyboy

O.k, o.k, everyone just back off!  So what?  Maybe we burned them all down because we could no figure out what 7 minus 11 had to do with buying gas.  You have a problem with that?
Carnation

And by "we," do you mean the rednecks?
Dustyboy

In a word, yes.
adwred

Your avi always makes me think that you're about to give a rectal exam.
Carnation

Me too!  Laugh

How's the challenge, Dusty?  If you're sick of steak, I can send you some testicles.
Dustyboy

The last time I worked at the hospital I had to violate like three babies with a thermometer.  Not fun for them or me.
woof_woof

So far so good.
Meat and water
Water and maet.
Pork and water
Beef and water
Chicken and water
And so on.
woof_woof

One week almost done. I need another one to be sure.
It seems it doesn't make that much difference.

What are you looking for, entertainment?

The bear about raw meat and if it digestes better chewed or bolted:

Not a problem if you like the taste of raw meat, I personally like my
meat seared a bit on the outside.  Since I have all my teeth, a bit
of a chew brings out all those delightful flavours food has, of
course meat is only digested after it reaches the stomach.

Nice to see that some people besides myself actually do not expect
their food to provide entertainment.   "I could never eat only meat-
I'd be bored to death" is a common response to my way of eating.

Cheers.

Bear

Well I still don't know...on a nother forum this was mentioned:

I just cut up sizes which will fit into my mouth just about and bolt them down with almost no chewing(perhaps a quick chomp of the jaws once or twice, that's it, no more). I always find they digest well, with them being better absorbed by the body than, say, minced raw meat.

I used to eat quite a bit of minced, raw meat and it didn't digest well, I would feel a bit unconfortable and it would sit in my stomach for some time(though without the severe stomach-pains I had after eating cooked-animal-food)

I did find suet in my stools for a while. Only with one source of suet, or if I ate too much of it at one meal.

I may chew hardly at all, but I do get the full benefit of the taste and texture. However, my main interest is to just bolt down the meats so that I can devote my time to more important non-food-related issues.

I've got no idea what are you talking about and why you think I use food as entertainment.
Sex and violence is way more entertaining  Wink

But I understand that the inner voices tell you to convert everybody to raw meat eaters. It's ok.

BTW dogs digest whole chunks of meat way better than minced meat so keep  doing what you are doing.
Dustyboy

Well it is over, thank God.  I must admit that this is not for me.  I was extremely weak and never felt like myself.
woof_woof

I'm in for another week. Shopping is so fucking easy with meat only.
I used to eat meat only in the past so I think my body knows how to deal with it. I had few headaches this week, mild induction flu (or it was just a cold), and few cramps while running. That's it. I've got no idea how much I was eating. Probably 1-3 lbs of meat/fat per day.
I still use salt and I will be drinking coffee this week.
Carnation

How's the challenge going with your wife?  Has she given up on low cal, or was it low fat?
Nicola

woof-woof (you must have grate looks so why not show them?)

You talked about doing raw meat; I could not care if you ate black meat if all you live for is sex and violence that may do the job better!!!

Bear and Charles talk about food as intertainment and I think they have some good points.

Nicola
ReddyMcMeaty

I do find food or drink entertaining.  But I tend to be a pleasure seeker, so seek pleasure in many things, food included.
adwred

If I didn't love food the way I do, I'd be out of a job!
Erasmus

Life is way too short not to enjoy your meals.

Of course there are limits, if you enjoy it too much, life becomes... well... way too short. Laugh

Personally, I don't think you live any longer by NOT enjoying your food, but it probably feels that way.

I won't becuse you may fall in love with me and you are a persistent woman so it means troubles. So just assume I'm fat, bold and ugly and I dream about eating meat while stuffing myself with pasta or pizzas.

So you wish me a quick death from overgrilled meats? Thank you. It's so kind of you.

I am beating her.  I am a little screwed up right now from the all meat thing.  It was really bad for me for some reason.  I just have to moderate and be happy with that.  I tend too go to far sometimes and that was just too far for me.  I do not have any reactions to dairy but I keep to trying to eliminate it.  Let not your hearts be troubled I will defeat the restrictor.

Yeah, yeah, keep rolling your eyes.    Victory is in sight, maybe I will spend my winnings on a giant slab or ribeyes.
Carnation

Seriously, Dusty, how are you doing?  How much have you lost?
Dustyboy

Around 5 pounds.  I don't think she has lost any.  I can do better than 5 I just have to learn to slow down.
Carnation

Good job, dusty!  I feel kinda bad for your wife, though.  But she could never do low carb because she's one of those people that won't eat fat, right?
Dustyboy

7-11's are not as wide spread as they were in the mid 1980's.
