gyrotake any ground meat and put it in the food processor with some eggs and onion.. and if you want rosemary and parsley. Blend until smooth. Put in a baking pan and bake as a meatloaf.
Keep in fridge, to serve slice thin and fry in lard with "gyro" seasoning. Sorry I can't tell you what that is, I just buy the prepackaged mix of spices.
A tasty addition is a drizzling of olive oil on top, and a sauce made with yogurt or sour cream, thin sliced cucumber, garlic and dill.

Fantastic idea! I adore gyros. Would probably be really good with ground lamb, too, or a mixture of the two.

I make gyro meat from ground lamb using Alton Brown's recipe.

It's basically the same thing, just with the addition of pressing the meat as it cools to give it that gyro-y texture. I gyros.
