Going raw, feeling better!I hadn't been feeling very well, so I started to eat raw yesterday. I had done it before, but only for a short time because I had to go to Hungary and while there just had to eat whatever I could get a hold of. When I came back I couldn't make myself eat raw meat, so I started to eat cooked meat but continued with the raw dairy.
I guess sticking with that for a couple of weeks made me strong enough to be able to stomach raw meat again. It's funny, but if I prepare it well it tastes better to me than cooked. Although you could never beat the smell of cooked beef! Maybe I'll be able to eat it cooked every now and then.
I have to admit that I used some onion today and also have been using a little bit of honey in my cream shakes. I already feel and look much better. I was looking very dehydrated, and at my age that's not good. Also, my front teeth were starting to look translucent so I knew I wasn't getting enough minerals.
Also, I read two articles in the last three days that reminded me how important raw is if you're sick, which I am. One was at the Regenerative Nutrition website, which a friend told me about(she's not raw). The other was an article by Ron Schmid at Weston A. Price website. Both articles are excellent.
I prefer raw meat ground up(ground at home makes a totally different product) and I make it into little meat balls that I coat with grated cheese. If anyone has recipes for variations, I would appreciate hearing them. I guess that would belong in the recipe section. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i too am going all raw! I am about 80% raw right now and want to work towards 100%. I have read so much these past few weeks on the benefits of raw food and how much cooking denatures protein and ruins enzymes and takes your vitamins and minerals away!
I am not on the carvivore woe but the paleo woe. My goal is to eat 100% raw meat, raw eggs, raw veggies, raw fruit and raw nuts! There is a name for this i found out..its called "Raw foodist". It seems the healthiest way to eat from all the research i have done.
As a side note: The Bear many times mentioned that he only sears his meat on the outside for safety reasons and eats mostly raw meat. He also mentioned never to have hard boiled eggs because it denatures the protein. i had been thinking about that and realized that maybe some people trying to do a carnivore diet but COOKING their meat will be LACKING in some important vitamins/enzymes..that is a little scary.
People need to do their research. Go to google and search "raw food, raw foodists, raw meat" and you will be surprised what you find!

i have always wanted to go all raw for the longest time...i don't know why, but i can't get myself to do it..rare steaks i put down easy..real easy, i love the stuff.Medium/rare meat gives me more energy, though rare meats stimulate my nervous system.Well done meat just backs me up.
i will eventually go all raw one day..my ideal diet would be raw butter, raw dairy, raw honey,beef,chicken,eggs,salmon..you name it..i really enjoy the thought of raw foods being healing foods, though i am not edjumacated enough in the subject to make a wise descision on it.

I ate only raw from Monday til Thursday, and then read that it's okay to eat some cooked meat. Thursday night I had one cooked hamburger, then on Friday I had two. Today I feel terrible. I woke up with a headache and abdominal pain that won't go away. I don't think I'll ever eat cooked meat again. If I can't make myself eat it raw, I'll just eat raw cheese or yogurt. I know that some people can do it, but I can't.
I had been having more energy in the beginning of this week than I have had in years. I also had moments when I felt happy for no reason at all. (I am not doing zero carb, but switching from no meat or animal fat to mostly meat and animal fat has made a huge difference.)
Good luck to you, RedTulipMoon. 80% is really good!

I had some raw beef and fat yesterday at 3 pm. I was not hungry until midnight.
I love how this WOE kills my appetite for hours at a time.

wow that is so cool -
that raw meat can relax you so much? That would be my holy grail. I have problems with not being able to relax - I'm still cooked meat though apart from raw liver.
I'm gonna try this - it might be really good for me.
