for women of childbearing agehttp://www.keeper.com/

I've had mine for 5 years I think? maybe 4? One of the most awesome products I've had. If you have any questions and don't want to post out here you can do it in my journal or pm me. I'm not affiliated in any way, just happy with the product.

I tried a little diaphragm thingy that worked the same way, called 'Instead', but it leaked and I was like, fuck this. I take it this one has no leakage? Do you have to be fitted for it?

Hmm, there are also two sizes for the diva cup - one for under 30 and one for over 30... I'm turning 30 in like 2-1/2 months! Which one would I get?? OMG is my vagina going to grow when I turn 30???

no, no leakage! Ever! You're not fitted for it, but there are 2 sizes, one for before and one women who have given birth. After I gave birth the smaller one leaked a little for several months... I haven't tried it since the 2nd birth, I've used the bigger one. A friend of mine who has 3 kids says hers leaked, but I didn't ask her what size she got. She was tiny, so maybe she got the smaller size thinking that it would be better for her, or maybe she needed to do some kegels in order for it not to leak, or maybe I was just lucky and it fit me properly. The rubber is firm but flexible and seems to form a good seal to catch the blood. Maybe because the cup part is not flexible plastic like the Instead Cup it will work better. I can imagine that if you tighten your muscles, or sit a certain way, it could squeeze the contents out of the plastic bag and over the top.

Just do your kegels and you can stick with the little one. Maybe under and over 30 is a roundabout way of saying "stretched from a big assed babyhead squeezing through there" since it's a sort of average age for women to have had or start having their kids, I think.

Are they pricey? I could just buy one of each size, just in case my vagina decides to expand exponentially on October 26.

35 bucks. IMO not pricey because of the benefits...but kind of a waste if you don't like it. I personally can't stand pads and tampons. Inside me, inside my underwear or in the garbage.

you can pm me if you don't want to spell it out here lol, but what were the problems? Was it opening it up while it was inside? That can be a little tricky if you're not used to it. I fold it and insert it the way that the directions say to, but find that I have to fiddle around a little bit in order for it to open properly and then I push it into the right spot. Obviously you need to relax when you're doing this otherwise your fingers don't fit and it's not comfortable. It probably was not in position properly if it was uncomfortable because I can't even feel mine at all once it's in right, I very faintly feel the tip (which I trimmed shorter) but then get used to it and don't feel it at all.

I'm right there with you. Thanks for pointing this out, will give it a try.

Oh neat-o! Here I go draggin' up old threads again. But I have to say that I LOVE my cup (call it my "cup o' noodles"). I'm a heavy bleeder, and used to go through a tampon every 30 min. This thing has saved me boatloads of money! The darned thing still leaks, despite having the bigger size and calling their hotline numerous times and following suggestions. But it only leaks every 4-5 hrs. at my heaviest times, so that's a huge improvement over 30 minutes.

I have a diva cup and I'm not terribly thrilled with it. I can only get it to sit right about half the time, and I hate cleaning it between cycles.
I talked my friend into getting one though and she LOVES it. Raves about it to everyone and says I changed her life with that thing!
Maybe I'll try it out again. I became very disenchanted with tampons a few months back and I refuse to use them anymore, and pads are kind of gross.

I need to try this diva cup. I just haven't gotten around to ordering one.

Even if you just do it for economic reasons, you can save a lot of money by using a cup. I like to remind myself of that. Also, it cuts down on paper waste. I also realized after switching to the cup that tampons had left me dried out after tom. Actually, I realized a lot of things after making the switch because I can see everything that is going on with my flow, how much, color changes, clots, etc. I clean mine with soap and a nailbrush when in use, and then have a special pot that I use for boiling it before and after.
It seems to be a black and white product, you either love it or hate it, but if you can get over the hump of learning to use it, then it can be a great product.

I stopped using tampons after they TWICE dried me out so much and were so abrasive that they left me with giant scabs INSIDE that a gyno had to swab out. That shit just ain't right.
I also found out after I stopped using them that they had been contributing to my horrible cramps.

Interesting. Do you know why?

No idea. Maybe it was something in the chemicals they use to bleach them?
|
Carnation

And so many of them are made of rayon these days. Nothing like synthetic fibers and bleach on your tender bits!

My tender bits need a diva cup! It's official!

I love my diva cup!
I actually do like the keeper a little better though, it has a more streamlined shape, I have the rubber one and it's really really ugly.. the brownish rubber discoloured, the silicone divacup is prettier - and I totally love it too, I just think I like the keeper a little bit better.

I have a 'forward' cervix. Meaning it's right at the front of my vagina, along the top wall - only about an inch and a half from the opening. Do you think that would affect it working?
|
Carnation
|
Hooray, red! I think it's worth a shot. I like mine so much better than the alternative that at first I thought I should get a second cup, just in case they stopped making them. But they seem to be popular enough that I won't have to.

Hmm. I had a gyno tell me that I have a tipped cervix, whatever that means. Maybe that's why I could never get the blasted thing to sit right.

That's probably the same thing I have.

Red, you could always call or email the company and ask them questions. I've found the hotline to be helpful.
