Eating flat out rawI hate cooking my meat and i'm a bad cook. I keep burning it or overcooking it. I wasted so much meat today.
So what is the real risk of eating flat out raw? I am scared of food poisoning, but people seem to be doing it here quite often.

What kind of meat are you buying?
Unless it's commercial ground beef the risk is negligible I'd say. If you're worried poach the outside by pouring or dipping in boiling water. If you're eating poultry slice it thin and marinate in a strong citrus. I have no advice for pork since I don't eat it raw or rare except by accident Once I got rare wild boar, it didn't hurt me.

Cool! I think I will sterilise the meat in boiling water quickly, until I feel a little more confident, thank you
Oh I do buy mince but I will cook this. I buy joints usually, or steak, sometimes the diced, casserole stuff too.

Have been eating raw meat for four years and never had the slightest problem. One thing I avoid is commercial ground beef, if I feel like eating ground meat I grind it myself.

i eat an all-raw diet, and i've never had any issues with raw meat or eggs EXCEPT for when i combine them! i've done that 3 times and it gives me really really bad stomach pain for around 4 hours or so. not nice at all! but i'm fine if i don't eat them together.
i avoid raw pork and hamburger as well.

Interesting. Are combining whole raw eggs and meat or just yolks and meat? I ask because I have never had a problem with meat and yolks, but I have never tried the whole raw egg with meat... could it be the whites?
