Differences between male and femaleHey there fellow Carnivores,
I have a question regarding the nutrition of my bride-to-be. I was wondering if there were any nutritional discrepancies between the male and female bodies.
I read an article a while ago that talked about how, on average, men eat more and rarer meat, and women eat more fruits and vegetables. It made me think of what Bear said about how women feel the drive for those extra carbs to keep the "mothering fat" in abundance, so I pose my question: Should women have more carbs than men, in the evolutionary sense?
It could be also that women are more likely to be concerned with their health and follow the party line involving diet, in the (vain) attempt to remain at or reduce to a reasonable weight. Daughters are more likely to believe mother knows best, or at least that's what I've seen so far. Maybe it's acculturation.
I also read somewhere that men detect movement better (hunting) and women can differentiate colors better (gathering) so it makes me think that maybe women should be eating like 95% meat and the rest fruits and vegetables where men, with our non-need for bodyfat, should be eating 100% meat. It's just a theory for now, but I'd really like to hear both the guys' and girls' take on this one.
Neither of us need to lose weight, so ignore that dynamic. I just want to know if evolution designed the semi-carbed women over pure-meat ones.

I don't think anyone really knows the answer to that question. Is your fiance a carnivore or planning on becoming one? If so, I'd say just let her experiment and see what level of carbs feels comfortable and leaves her with the most energy. I'm one of very few women around here who does well on zc. I believe that most of the other women here are now eating up to 100 g of carbs a day, and are feeling better, but I'll let them speak for themselves.

I follow an all meat diet, I am 37. It does keep me very thin, thinner than I would like to be, but I still get a monthly cycle. I would put on weight if I ate some carbs, but have no desire to do so.

There was a raw meat site I was on once where I was surprised at how many women were chowing down on raw animal flesh with extremely low carbs. Can't quite remember which it was right now, but still, maybe it's all about awareness and how we handle the information... or not
Best wishes,
