Lucky Canadians!
When will this fascinating documentary be shown in the states?
Maybe I'll just have to wait for the DVD.
I absolutely adore the whole idea of the primitive diet being low-carb and animal fat-dominant. It makes a lot of sense from an evolutionary perspective, as well as from my own personal experiences with "living off the land" in a wilderness setting. On a survival trip, the thing that is craved the most is fat, fat, and more fat.
High-carb cultures, even if "whole-food" based, almost always seem to display more health abnormalities and high-strung personality traits than animal-food based ones. Just take a look at some of the rainforest tribes in any modern documentary, and you'll see what I mean. Though they have good lives compared to moderns, these folks often quarell and bicker and just look stressed out -- unless, of course, they're sipping kava!
A Masai, on the other hand, well, they're pretty darn laid back.
Anyway, just some thoughts ...
All you Canadians let us U.S. folks know how the doc is!
