Anyone want to egg it for a week with me?I feel whiny and just want someone to do it with. I keep succumbing to the skin on the chicken legs that I bake to make babyfood, and to sausage. I'm all for meat, but eggs do me good. Please. Someone join me and make me feel less lonely

I'm in. When do we start? Do I get to have duck fat?
I have a duck that's in the fridge that I'm roasting tonight, but after it's eaten, I'm willing to egg it for as long as you want!

yay thank you! I have a steak in the fridge I'd love to have.. so lets start tomorrow. I've egged it today so far - 2 cofees - and will hav that steak tonight.

OK, I'll have roast duck tonight, then just have eggs and the rendered fat from the duck after that. I'm going to try to IF today, even though I failed miserably yesterday. I think I got it out of my system, tho. I had been doing great on IF for the 3 days prior.

the meat was inedible! so i deep fried plain chix legs in goosefat.... and that is all i can say about it since there is no food orgasm smiley

Tell me about it. I would use that smiley constantly. Like after my roast duck tonight! And after my slow-roasted pork belly from last night! Omigod *slavering at the mouth*
OK, I need to get more excited about eggs...
|
ReddyMcMeaty
|
the only eggs I can get that excited about are poached eggs WITH crispy cured pork fat ... I named it golden drops from heaven but it's out for me when egging it
|

Yeah, I only ever get REALLY excited about eggs when combined with something else. Meat or cheese or something.

OK, I'm still at work so there's no way I'm going to have time to roast that duck tonight. I'll have to eat the duck tomorrow, which means my egging will have to begin on Thursday. You can either start without me, or wait a day!

I just polished off 16 oz of ground beef and ~17 oz of salmon plus eggs and a little bit of chicken, so I think im definitely going to have to start tomorrow.
How many eggs do you guys eat per day? I was thinking of doing about a dozen, with just some butter to fry in and nothing else.
|
adwred
|
Wow, that is a hell of a lot of protein. Are you having enough fat with that?
Depending on how much fat I'm adding, I'll have anywhere from 6 - 9 eggs in a day when I'm just eating eggs. Sometimes more, if it's a particularly hungry day. But I don't add any seasoning, really, (just half-salt) which definitely limits the amount you can eat. It's too boring to binge on.
|
opticon107
|
yeah I think so, I also ate a lot of butter and the beef was 73/27.
eggs may be boring, but im beginning to think i could binge on anything

I'll give it a shot. I'm down to eggs, butter, and lard in the fridge anyway. Might as well make a go of it.

I usually average around 10 eggs a day when I egg it, sometimes I'll do 14 and sometimes 8 depending on how much fat is eaten with them. It's boring but I feel really really good, and happy - no foody chemicals messing with my brain, and of course the gratification of the scale going down.
Right now I'm doing 2 2 egg coffees, one in the morning and one at noon, then eating the rest of the food in the evening.

Yeah, I wish I had some beef fat or duck fat to fry in, but I don't, so I think most of my extra fat is going to come from butter.
But right now its 10:40 AM where I'm at and I don't even have any eggs, ran out yesterday! So I won't be eating until I pick some up lol
This has absolutely nothing to do with eggs, but yeserday I had 73/27 ground beef and I fried it in a pan, and a WHOLE LOT of oil was in it when it was done, like way more than I put, so I know it came off the beef, does that mean the beef was actually lower fat than it was before I cooked it, if I didn't *drink* the oil that came off That never happened to me with pan fried steaks before...

Yes, fat renders out of ground meat much more easily than it does from a big hunk of steak. You should try to eat all those drippings. And not overcooking the meat will help from too much fat rendering out - plus the meat will stay much juicier if the fat stays in.

I am still eating eggs though, so maybe when I get back from my Mother's Birthday party next week.

Is it ok to eat rare ground beef? I dont buy it anywhere special - usually walmart/publix/kroger type grocery stores.

That's all about individual comfort level. I know a lot of people on here who do. And some don't. It's up to you what you're willing to experiment with.

I see, right now im experiementing with almost raw steaks, like just cooking the outsides and the insides are still kinda raw, though it does taste weird because the inside is generally a bit cold. Wasn't that bad though.
Anyways - about the egg fast, is it better than eating exclusively meat? Besides the fact that its much cheaper.
I just feel kinda bad eating so many, 12 is only about 1100 calories with some fat added to make the ratio 70:30, and I've heard/read that its not good to eat below like 1200 or something

Have you all started? I can't today, but I am off to IHop for breakfast with Daddy in the morn. Maybe I can start eggs tomorrow... but it gets complicated. My Mother just moved into a home where the kitchen is like, missing. Tiny microwave, tiny fridge, tiny sink. No stove What am I thinking! I eat raw eggs! Maybe I can do this! Can I nuk'em? Why would I do this? What is this for again? Hold on I'll scroll...

| Quote: | | You absorb a raw egg in as little as 30 minutes, while it takes two to four hours to digest a cooked egg. |
Hmm. Doesn't that mean that cooked would keep you full longer? I do find that's true. My raw egg drinks are nice and satisfying, but I wouldn't say they satiate me for hours the way eating cooked eggs does.

Can I admit I cheated with a single slice of pork belly? I feel bad for cheating on the egg challenge, but not about eating the piece of belly. It was such a perfect slice, teasing me from the fridge saying "Come on, look how good I am. You're going to cook me up for your son and he's going to throw it all on the floor...and ask for mashed potatoes"

it's a german thing! Oniony flavours in one's coffee!!
I'll clarify I drink two egg coffees per day which include coffee powder, a couple drops of sweetner, 2 eggs, and hot water.
I don't drink coffee after 12 or 1pm, so later in the day I'll make creamy egg soup using eggs and fried leek. It's great with chicken added too. Or diced fried pork belly
|

Yum. I love the leek soup idea. Unfortunately raw eggs just don't fill me up the same way as cooked do, so I tend to mainly eat cooked eggs and use the egg drinks as a sort of after dinner thingy.

You're on fire, Tina!! Eggs really are a fat-repellant. I don't know what it is, but they are magical.
I've lost 2 lbs in the last two days, HOWEVER, I was accidentally glutened on the weekend at a restaurant (I should have known better) and my weight shot up 4 lbs overnight, so I'm only halfway back to where I started. At least my tummy doesn't hurt quite as bad anymore.

Tuesday stats: about 12 scrambled eggs with about 3 tbsp tallow, 7 tbsp butter, made modified rolls which was basically separated eggs & cream cheese with about a tsp of sugar free blackberry jam. Cheese on lunch and dinner eggs. Coffee & cream

I was just about to go make some eggs when I realized... I made it a week. That means meat's on the menu today. It wasn't as rough as I'd expected. I guess it helps when others are doing it with you. I lost a few pounds of bloat and a few pounds of fat, too, I think. I'll have to try this again.
