All bacon diet

Just curious...has anyone lived on nothing but bacon for a good stretch of time?  A week?  Longer?

Whatever on earth made you think of that?  Laugh

I gotta say, the title of this thread totally turned me on.  Gave me a little jump start.

A friend and I were cooking bacon and looked at the back of the package.  When we did the calculations, there were under 600 calories for the entire 12 oz package.  I was kind of surprised that you could eat an entire package of bacon and not even come close to enough calories for the day.   It made me wonder if anyone had tried an all bacon diet for reducing.  And I figured that if anyone had done an all bacon diet, it might be someone here.   Like I said, just curious.
ReddyMcMeaty

if I could get decent bacon here I would volunteer, for sure.

The only thing that would  bother me about it would be all the sodium.
adwred

And for me, the nitrates and the free glutamates.
cabalco

I do not think someone could live on only bacon for several days. The sodium would dehydrate you. Never ever  Yup

Neat avatar!

Yes those nitrities will kill you within this very week.
Or maybe not:

It's you to decide.

Interesting, woof.

If I needed to lose weight, I'd try the all bacon diet.  Nitrates, salt, whatevuh.  I wonder how many days of eating nothing but bacon it would take for it to stop tasting like heaven?

The smell of bacon cooking is one of my favorite things.
adwred

It might be my favourite smell of all time! That and campfire/fireplace smell. I guess I must love smoke.

To add to Carnation's concern...  The only thing I would be afraid of would be the slight risk of a permanent dislike of bacon.

I don't want to live in world without bacon.

So it is possible that such a diet could be fatal.  Laugh

Just in case  Evil

Cool idea Carnation, I must say  Yup

I get americangrassfedbeef.com, its the same setup. That beef bacon sounds great I must order some. Does anyone else here soak their bacon to remove the sugars and salt or am I the obsessive one.

I would actually soak my kosher meat, very fatty by the way. It had tons of salt on it, at least some cuts. At the moment, I cannot tolerate salt.
