You know... the more I read and the more I keep seeing this "Keys" guy's initial "chock full of crap science and just plain intellectual dishonesty" study and how it has influenced American policy regarding our diets today... well it just pisses me off. Very Mad

Ok, I'll have to admit that I haven't read that rag much, but I had kind of thought they were big into the whole low-fat thing.  I wonder if the media interest in Gary Taubes' book is starting to turn the tide.

Speaking as someone who was trained as a chemist, and worked in a lab for 8 years, I can tell you that one can formulate an experiment to support any desired result.  And even with the most devoted and ethical scientists, it is very difficult to obtain true objectivity.  I think we're made to believe that science is somehow different, that it's a place where there are Truth and Integrity.  Sadly, most of the time, science is like politics in that it follows the money.
