a basic carb question on gaining muscle from minimal carbs.

this is a very very basic carb/muscle question. i dont know much about how the body builds muscle from which food sources (proteins, fats, and carbs) but i do know that when you have an excess of carbs the rest get stored as fat.
my question is, if i eat meat and eggs, am carnivorous and then once a day have a spoonful of pure maple syrup, which is around 50 carbs for 4 spoonfuls, or even if i have 4 spoonfuls which would be 50 carbs, so this 50 carbs is going to be stored in my body as muscle if i ate these carbs after working out? and if i ate this just anytime during the day it would be stored in my body and my body would take the carbs and use em up as its needed? would i ever gain muscle doing it this way?
i dont really know the science behind it, is it true muscle is just made up of carbs, so if my only carbs were maple syrup, over time as i grew more muscle this muscle would have all been fueled by the maple syrup, so i would have "maple syrup muscles" haa? is this correct?

Umm, no. It's not correct. Carbs cannot be made into muscle. Any carbs not used for immediate energy will be stored either as glycogen, or fat if the glycogen stores are full. Muscle is made from protein......well, amino acids really, which are the building blocks of protein.

alright i understand a little more now. but then how come is it that its almost impossible to gain lots of muscle mass eating just protein and fat? i always hear about that "catabolic" state where your body just eats your muscle. so protein and fat can be turned into muscle, or only protein? do you need to have an excess of either the fat or protein for it to be stored? im still a bit confused about this

First, you need to work your muscles to build muscle. You don't build muscle just be eating anything, protein, fat or carbs. You can eat protein till the cows come home ( Laugh ) but unless you are exercising you will not build muscle. Resistance training (weight lifting) is best. Although I do believe you can build muscle doing other types of exercise. When you do intense exercise of any kind, HGH, or Human Growth Hormone, is released. Studies have shown that men given HGH (synthetic) experience a loss of body fat, along with increased muscle mass. And this is without exercise. I would think that HGH realeased by the body due to exercise would be at least as good, if not better than synthetic HGH. You also need to have adequate protein intake, which should not be a problem for any carnivore. When you work you muscles hard, as in lifting weights, you actually cause damage to the muscles being worked. These muscles then repair themselves using the amino acids from protein. Not only do they repair the damage, but they do a little extra, which makes the muscle bigger and stronger.
