"I Love You, but You Love Meat"

New York Times article:  I Love You, but You Love Meat

Quote:
Sharing meals has always been an important courtship ritual and a metaphor for love. But in an age when many people define themselves by what they will eat and what they won’t, dietary differences can put a strain on a romantic relationship. The culinary camps have become so balkanized that some factions consider interdietary dating taboo.

I was watching a show last night that mentioned meat eating and veg eating Dinosaurs! Did they ever hook up? I was taken for a moment thinking, wow, even back then there was a meat and veg division  Bonkers  Maybe it is the natural order of things...

Best wishes,

I have known some vegetarians who went that route for health reasons and they never had a problem dating omnivores. I think it depends on the reasons for vegetarianism/veganism. If the veg is that way because they think it is unethical to kill animals for food, then you would be an unethical person in their eyes. Who wants to date a cruel, unethical person?

<roars with laughter>

this must be the freakin' funniest thing i've read in awhile!!!

once i read an article that a vegan couple in Europe were going for a publisized sex-marathon..to disband the myth that vegetarianism reduces libido.

IF it wasnt at least partially true, then why would there be such a widespread myth in the first place??

but yea, thx for da laugh ::smily smily me::

its just, i find strict vegetarians generally a little close-minded and judgmental.

*example*
i always see to it guests are properly fed at my house, meat-eating or not!
and never seek to reform / mold their habits either way.

dating a vegetarian wud be difficult.
