I hate distance.. it's just not for me. Give it to me hard and fast!!
HIIT is so great for overall fitness and for shaping your body...
fav. cardio is sprinting on stairs with calves and walking lunges afterward or between sets of stairs. If that doesn't give you nice legs nothing will.
add some weight training - squats, deadlifts, or pistols and you're set.

LOL, Meg. I'm totally with you on this one. I enjoy hard cardio in short bursts, and lifting heavy weights. Maybe it has something to do with my short attention span? I do think, however, that a balance between the two sides is probably the best. I think as I continue to improve my health, the endurance will come. I have some already, but I get bored quickly. _________________ ~Alisa |

Well... if ya wanna see some REALLY beautiful stuff... you had better have the endurance to hike into it! Of course, quickness is a good trait to have in order to run from bears... especially the fluffy kind! _________________ CONFIRMED TROLL

oh I agree... actually mountainous hiking swirls around on my top 3 favourite things to do, along with eating and something else that gets you just as sweaty as hiking up an alp at stop speed.
I find my HIIT fitness contributes a lot to my hiking fitness though, I have more pep and spring to my legs and eating properly (zero carb, coconut oil) seems to keep the strength and endurance high on little food all day. I guess what I like about it is the zippiness it gives me. _________________ "Man lives on one quarter of what he eats. On the other three quarters lives his doctor." |
