Based on some recent research I've done (including reading lots of great posts on this forum), I've started a VLC diet.  Can anyone point me to a resource about when can I expect the onset of adaptation symptoms, what the symptoms will be like, and when they will pass?

For me it takes about 48 hours before I start experiencing symptoms.  I usually starts with a little tiredness, bad breath, strange dreams.  The tiredness will go away slowly but the bad breath is here to stay.  I brush my teeth a lot.

I never really got the "bad breath".  And what little I did get has long since gone.

As far as the adaptation period goes I believe Atkins puts many people through hell for no reason.  I feel it is best to just reduce your carbs to the level you want GRADUALLY thus giving your body time to adapt without the "flu".

As always, I think it's relative. Back in the 90s when I was living Atkins full time I truly experienced no symptoms what so memorable. No bad breath. No tiredness.

But to this day I don't experience what many people do-body aches etc... Ignorance is bliss? I don't know.

Chose your path and see the see.

Best wishes,
Avalon  Happy

Avalon, I'm with you so far.  Day 4 has come and gone with no noticeable changes in how I'm feeling.  Onward to day 5!

Yay team!

Look out for day 11, if I remember there are a few spikes thrown in the road, two or three oil spills and a barrel of Monkeys wielding Bananas! Get through 11 and you have it made... except for day 21. I'm sorry I still can't talk about day 21  Cry  Oh and then there was day... never mind  Roll Eyes

Best to you,
Avalon  Wink
