I don't know about that book, but I've looked at a ton of research on leptin levels and dieting and leptin levels drop after
a.) being on a low calorie diet for a couple of days
b.) being on a low carb diet for a couple of days
That's why I incorporate weekly carbohydrate refeeds while eating at maintenance calories or 10% over to reset leptin levels.
