Proceed with caution. I just had to share this. It so flies in the face of something something... But I Believe! I Believe!

http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2008nl/jan/grains.htm

I won't post any quotes so as not to upset any one's stomach this early in the morning. Check it out if you believe in a starch based diet. What?  Shock

I do love how people can have such apposing views I tell ya!

So I'm off to buy some rice  Wink

My favorite quote:
Quote:
While overfeeding with grains can easily fatten food-animals, like cows and pigs; the human body only reluctantly converts carbohydrates, like those found in grains, into body fat.

And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you!

I want to change the topic of this thread to 'For the love of God, not again!!!'.

This makes me think of another good username: FortheloveofMeat. It'd be good but mines better. Meat IS awesome in case I haven't emphasized that yet.

Over the years of low-carbing, if there is one fallacious that never ceases to go away is this "whole" grain rubbish.  I can't get over the lunacy and stupidity of the establishment recommending a food staple that is so utterly lacking in nutritional value that it must be fortified by the USDA before it may be called a food.

With all this whole grain crap, it seems as if their trying to find the ideal diet for horses rather than humans.

Actually I don't believe they are recommending drop dead white bread anymore. There's a big difference between the two.

And I like it so there! Upset  Outta Here

p.s. But it's also what we've done with and to bread that's the problem. The bread I grew up on was Wonder Bread. Peanut Butter and Jelly bread...

note to self: Next binge, peanut butter and jelly. It's been a while hmmm
